Georgia's 7th Birthday

Georgia turned 7 in June and I had the pleasure of making Georgia’s cupcakes for the second year in a row.  I consider this quite an honor to have my cupcakes on Georgia’s Birthday wish list!!

Georgia is a very special little girl who has a chromosomal deletion and she is one of only two known cases in the world who have this particular condition.  The deletion impacts on her via global muscular weaknesses and developmental delays.
Georgia loves the letter G, the number 7, stars, hearts, flowers, balloons and like all sensible girls she loves presents, particularly those tied with lots of ribbons and bows!  Her favourite animals are pussy cats (she hates dogs!).  She is also a little fashionista and is very conscious when going out to make sure she is wearing a dress or a twirly skirt and loves her shoes.

So for Georgia’s 7th Birthday she had a “'Balloon Bouquet' of cupcakes in her favourite colours – pink and purple – decorated with all of her favourite things – G’s, 7’s, kitties, flowers, high heel shoes, handbags, hearts and stars – and lots of ribbons.
Georgia is in Year One at Oakleigh State School.  She loves going to school and the highlight of her day is lunch so she can play in the playground with her classmates.  Oakleigh State School (Buxton Street, Ashgrove) has only one major fundraising event per year – The Oakleigh Fair – which will be held on Saturday 4th September.  This wonderful event is considered a permanent fixture on the local social calendar.
This year they are trying to raise funds to assist with the cost of providing Georgia, and their other special needs students, with appropriate aide support and resources.  Education Queensland does provide some funding but it only goes part of the way towards covering the costs that the school outlays.
All are welcome to attend the fair so come along on Saturday 4th September to Oakleigh State School, Buxton Street Ashgrove and have some fun - it will go a long way in helping raise money for a good cause.
